VALUE PROPOSITION
What if you could embark on a journey in a custom Time Travel Machine and fully immerse into millions of unique moments? TravelBuzz analyzes your social media content and creates a custom time travel experience.
RATIONALE
I started by questioning “what would I like to see if I could travel in time?” My initial instinct was to be able to see the major events that happened, but that would not provide any sense of engagement, and it wouldn’t be anything more than the content one could find in an encyclopedia. The real spark came when I wondered if there was any way that my own life events could be incorporated into this journey.
RESEARCH
I researched NASA’s brand guidelines and colors in order to come up with a visual approach that was on brand, yet fun and minimalistic. The name of the app was inspired both by the “buzz” of the social media aspect that would be incorporated, and also “Buzz Aldrin”, American former astronaut, engineer and fighter pilot.
In this short research, I interviewed 15 potential users and asked them questions around “what would they like to see if they could travel in time”. I heard many interesting angles and started to build archetypes to ensure that every user could make the most of their journey.
PERSONAS
The major personas identified were: “The Historian”, “The Free Rider”, “The Social Astronaut” , and “The Nostalgian”.
